The workshops concentrate on teaching the techniques needed to capture landscape images in the camera rather then relying on the computer afterwards. With a maximum of 8 guests per workshop Kate and John will have plenty of time for some one-to-one tuition for the novice but also the locations will challenge the more experienced photographer.

WORKSHOP ONE - MORSTON TO BRANCASTER STAITHE
We will meet in the car park at Morston approximately ½ hour before sunrise (exact time to be confirmed in advance of workshop). Here we will catch the sun rising along the creek, this is one of my favourite places for a sunrise. There is a lot to photograph here with boats old and new moored along the creek, the beautiful saltmarshes and our dramatic big skies.
We will then head off to Wells beach where you can photograph the famous beach huts and sand dunes.
By now you will probably be getting hungry so we will head a few miles along the coast to The Marsh Larder at Holkham for a full cooked breakfast/brunch (included in the price) and a chance to discuss what you have learned so far and for us to answer any questions arising from the morning. We will also show you how to convert your raw images ready for printing or sending to photoshop.
Then it is off to Brancaster Staithe where we will spend the rest of the day. Now is the chance to put into practice what you have learned during the morning, you will find old boats, crab pots and old buildings giving loads of opportunity for close-up work as well as big landscapes. This is also where we will catch the setting sun as it catches the boats on the creek.
At some point during the afternoon we will have a break for a hot drink and a snack.

Sunday 7th March 2010 cost £120.00 Places available
WORKSHOP TWO - HAPPISBURGH & CROMER
We will meet at Happisburgh for dawn and hopefully a spectacular sunrise. This dramatic section of the coast is about as rugged as Norfolk gets. Old sea defences stand along the beach beside newly placed rocks both of which are regulary pounded by the sea. Even so up to 10 metres of cliff can be lost to the sea every year. It’s then a short distance to Happisburgh lighthouse. Only one real vantage point here so we don’t stay long. However as a traditional red and white lighthouse on the cliff top it’s a must.
After a cooked breakfast/ brunch on the cliff top at Overstrand it’s then onto the seaside town of Cromer, we will spend what’s left of the day photographing the crab boats, Victorian Pier and beach, hopefully followed by a wonderful sunset.
At some point during the afternoon we will have a break for a hot drink and a snack.
Sunday 25th October 2009 cost £120.00 Completed
Sunday 24th January 2009 cost £120.00 Completed
WORKSHOP THREE - THORNHAM & OLD HUNSTANTON
We will meet at Thornham for dawn and hopefully a spectacular sunrise. ( we will confirm times etc nearer to the workshop) Thornham encapsulates the tranquillity of the Norfolk coast a place that once thrived as much on smuggling as it did on other activities. Nowadays it is renowned for its natural beauty and is a a popular place for bird watchers and artists with mile upon mile of beautiful marshes etched by veins of salt water. Late morning we will stop for a cooked breakfast/ brunch (included in the price) in a local cafe and a chance to discuss what you have learnt so far and for us to answer any questions arising from the morning. We will then work our way along the coast finishing at Old Hunstanton for a sunset.
The Norfolk seaside resort of Hunstanton has the unusual distinction of being an east coast town that faces west and as a result gets more than its fair share of wonderful sunsets setting over the sea, so hopefully we will be lucky enough to get one. We will base ourselves at Old Hunstanton where you can photograph the famous stratified red limestone and white chalk cliffs on the beach, an old wreck, wonderful green moss covered round boulders and beach huts.
At some point during the afternoon we will have a break for a hot drink and a snack.
Sunday 8th November 2009 cost £120.00 Completed
Sunday 21st Febuary 2010 cost £120.00 Places available
